We introduce ourselves. You share why you think you need legal or advising services. I listen. You give some insights on timeline, complexity, facts, unknowns. I listen. Then, I tell you a bit about myself, how I can help you (or not) and we discuss next steps. In this conversation we're both looking for fit—style and substance. Is this someone I can work with and trust? For me, is this my area of practice? For you, are you already encouraged that I can help you. You will want to ask about fees and I will give you my hourly rate. We can discuss whether a fixed fee is feasible. It's not a favorite topic but clarity and candor are essential.
